With Christmas less than 24 hours away, FashionUnited has been checking out the festive window displays of London’s biggest retailers. From the bear and hare display at John Lewis to the Harrods Christmas Express train, the Christmas cracker-inspired windows at Liberty and the oversized winter wonderland at Selfridges.
Harrods is the most elaborate, inspired by the iconic British steam train, each window brings to life one of its departments depicted as a scene from one of the carriages. Whereas Selfridges has gone for an oversized Christmas gift concept, showing its offerings including Charlotte Olympia kitty flats, Kenzo jumpers and YSL clutches surrounded by a winter wonderland of snow-peaked mountains.
Liberty
has kept its traditional approach with a an added modern touch inspired by the flash created from the pull of a Christmas cracker, with jewel-encrusted mannequins highlighting the latest party and formalwear. The iconic department store has even adorned a giant cracker bursting above the main entrance to grab shoppers attention.
