The demand by exhibitors from India and Korea – the strongest groups after China and Hong Kong – is so high that both countries will have their own pavilions for the first time this year as part of the Intertextile Pavilion. Exhibitors from Europe are the UK’s Westcott Design Ltd., the Testex AG from Switzerland and Luca Cuccolini from Spain.
“Fabric exports to China from Korea are growing, and are expected to reach USD 1.8 billion this year. Intertextile Pavilion is a good opportunity for us to target the Chinese market and we will take full advantage of it to increase our productivity,” commented Yoon Young Sang, vice president of the Korea Fashion Textile Association (KFTA) that organizes the Korean pavilion.
Last year, the fair attracted almost 14,000 exhibitors, among them mainly retailers, garment manufacturers, wholesalers and import & export corporations. After China, apart from Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Turkey were the countries with the strongest visitor contingents. Among the international brands and retailers, H&M, Walmart, Spalding, Mango, Macy’s, Li & Fung, Pepe Jeans and others had sent representatives.
“For tapping into the global up street market, Guangdong is the heart of high quality ladieswear manufacturers in China; this is an ideal platform to showcase our tailor-made products which are designed and made in India,” said Sunil Kumar Chhaperia, director of Vinayak International Ltd. (India).
The fair will run concurrently with the 13th China (Shenzhen) International Brand Clothing & Accessories Fair in halls 1 and 9, which includes a fashion show located in hall 5.
