London Fashion Week designer Christopher Kane
is set to open his brand’s first store on London’s Mount Street next year. The designer, who received investment from Kering (formerly PPR) earlier this year, will join other luxury British brands including Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney, as well as Roksanda Ilincic who is also opening her first store on the street.
Commenting on the news, Kane and his sister Tammy, the brand’s deputy creative director, said: "This is an incredibly exciting time for us. To have our own retail space gives us the chance to showcase our collections and to really express our vision. To open in London first was really important to us as this is where our label was born."
Keith Wilson, at property advisor Wilson McHardy who advised on the deal, told The Independent: “Mount Street provides the gravitas required ahead of other Mayfair and Knightsbridge locations for an emerging luxury brand and landlord Grosvenor was hugely supportive in securing the space.”
Kane will present his Spring/Summer 2014 collection at London Fashion Week this morning.
