Josie Natori launches eveningwear

Josie Natori, whose burgeoning business includes lingerie, ready-to-wear, fragrances, and home goods, is adding to her business with a new category: eveningwear. The new eveningwear collection is slated to hit stores this fall. Eveningwear is not a completely new endeavor for Natori, however.
She's always been known to mix a few eveningwear gowns into her runway shows, but this is the first time that she will be doing a full line of evening wear for her brand. Retailers had been encouraging her to explore the idea of a designer eveningwear line at a lower price point than your standard designer eveningwear collection. Natori's collection will range in price from 1500 dollars to 5000 dollars, whereas the overwhelming majority of designer eveningwear collections are priced at 6000 dollars and up.
Her debut line includes cocktail dresses, shifts and gowns in duchess satin, pebbled silk cloque, lace and even double bonded jersey, all with her signature beaded embellishment and embroidery. “We are using fabrics that are more textured; not your typical chiffons,” Natori said to WWD. “It’s a bit more modern and less mother-of-the-bride.” The collection will launch for resort 2016 in select department stores and on natori.com.
