Eponymous luxury Italian shoe brand Gianvito Rossi has found a new home. On Monday, August 3, they opened their doors to their new Upper East Side boutique, making history for the brand with their first freestanding store in the U.S. The store is the fifth for the company, with four other boutiques in Milan, Paris, Hong Kong, and London.

The 1,000-square-foot space is located on the corner of Madison Avenue and 75th Street, a prime retail traffic area. Neighboring stores include Carolina Herrera, Nanette Lepore, Diptyque, and Ahn Ann. While Rossi's immaculate shoe offerings will certainly help bring in the customers, the interior design of the store will certainly help as well.

The interior design was done in partnership with Milan-based architect Patricia Urquiola. Decorative details include oak floors laid in graphic herringbone, smoky-colored mirrors, velvet and leather armchairs, and perforated burnt metal panels. The space is painted in a shade of muted powder pink.

The shoes are perched upon bookshelf like displays, with the brand's fall collection already being offered. It might be the beginning of August, but fall is around the corner, and it's never too early to start building your next season's wardrobe. The Upper East Side boutique also has a very exclusive shoe offering unique to only their store: an American flag emblazoned pair of the designer's plexi pump.

After all, what better way to announce your arrival in American than a patriotic pair of pumps. Only 50 pairs of the style have been produced and they are priced at 745 dollars. The company has declined to discuss projected sales numbers, but, they have said that this is just their first location in the U.S. with potential plans for other stores in the works.

“We are going to eventually expand to maybe two other locations in the States, but not all over the place,” Rossi was quoted saying to WWD. “Right now, we’re still very focused on the quality of the collection.”
