Lizz Wasserman is named ModCloth's fashion director

E-tailer ModCloth just hired Lizz Wasserman as its first fashion director.

The vintage brand offers indie-inspired, retro pieces including skirts, dresses, blouses, bottoms, and more. The e-commerce site made the decision to bring in Wasserman to work out of the company’s Los Angeles office. According to WWD, she came into the job due to her love for the company as well as the brand’s personal style. Incorporating her own tastes, Wasserman will be in charge of creating seasonal collections for ModCloth. The company’s line of branded apparel just debuted earlier this year in August. Wasserman will report to the chief executive officer Matt Kaness and co-founder Susan Koger.

Previously, Wasserman has worked with fashion brands such Urban Outfitters and Free People. Experience with those brands gives Wasserman the upper hand on millennial-minded customers, similar to ModCloth’s target audience. “Her expertise will be invaluable as we grow our namesake label into a true ‘collection’ of high-quality pieces that are joyous, whimsical, and make you feel your best,” Koger told WWD.
