Oliver Peoples opens first pop-up on the East Coast

Oliver Peoples, Los Angeles based eyewear brand, confirmed its first pop-up for the east coast this upcoming weekend. The stylish, optical-wear brand will be hosting its first temporary shop in East Hampton in New York. The new space will carry the brand’s custom-made glasses along with Oliver People’s newest collection for Summer 2015. The interior of the store, designed by Marmol Radziner, is set as an art piece itself. According to WWD, the Los Angeles-based architect has left the walls and ceiling unprimed with painter’s canvas. Additionally, the floor is unfinished as plywood.

According to WWD, the eyewear company plans to expand there due to its large customer following is. “We have a goal to open stores where we believe our customers are and without a doubt, particularly in the summer, the Hamptons is home to many of them,” David Schulte, chief executive officer of Oliver Peoples, told the publication.

Oliver Peoples was founded in 1987 along with its first-ever boutique and collection launch. The brand established itself in West Hollywood, California. Using Los Angeles’ lifestyle, film, art, music, fashion and culture as inspiration, creative director Larry Leight designs the optical frames. Along with fine craftsmanship, Oliver Peoples is known for its premium and unique designs. The iconic brand ensures each frame is meticulously handcrafted with the time and energy it takes to make each handmade piece.
