When it was first announced that Gwyneth Paltrow's weekly lifestyle publication Goop would be opening a pop-up shop in NYC, there was excitement abound among shoppers. Apparently, some shoppers got a little too excited, and decided to get their hands on those Goop by breaking the law. On Saturday, December 5, a robbery took place at the Goop Mrkt store in Columbus, Circle.

While no arrests have been made yet, an investigation is currently underway to figure out who pilfered 173,465 dollars worth of merchandise.

According to a statement from a Goop spokeswoman, "There was an isolated incident Saturday afternoon involving a very limited number of items, which was reported to the NYPD. While the store was crowded during one of our busiest days, thankfully the NYPD responded quickly, our customers and staff are safe, and we remain open for business with proper security precautions in place.”

According to the NYPD, the perpetrators will be charged with grand larceny.

No further details have been revealed regarding the investigation at this time.
