California-based swimwear company KAOHS Swim returned to Miami Swim Week this year with its second runway appearance. The fashion show took place this past Friday, July 21 at W South Beach's Wet Deck.
The collection introduced both luxury items with a neutral, soft palette as well as intricate design elements. Inspired by spring colors as well as the 80's era, the swimwear line reflects retro elements with floral prints and solid eye-catching colors. The bikinis include high-waisted pieces and deep V- bottom paired with minimalist bandeau tops. The line also showed off off-the-shoulder and more asymmetrical, versatile designs.
“The 2018 collection starts out with a sophisticated feel as the bikinis are shown in gingham and soft colors,” said Ali Hoffman, co-creator of the brand. “To continue the sweet heart feel from resort, we begin to introduce an early spring collection with white and red eyelet bikinis and one pieces, and to finish spring off we were inspired by the 80s thus bringing in colors such as yellow, blue, red and a rose bud print."
Established in 2013, the brand was founded by Californian natives Tess Hamilton and Hoffmann. The two created KAOHS in an effort to mix California culture with its elements of surf, boho, and skate. Designed for a beach lifestyle and active women, the swimsuits show off a variety of cuts for comfortable, stylish beach. The line is designed in Orange County and produced in Los Angeles.
