Tiffany announces plans to completely renovate iconic New York store

Tiffany & Co intends to completely renovate its iconic flagship store in New York, starting in the spring of 2019. The 10-story building, located at 57th Street and 5th Avenue, first opened in 1940 and served as a set for movies such as Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Sleepless in Seattle and Sweet Home Alabama. Customers will be redirected to a temporary retail space at 6 East 57th Street during the renovations.

“We are extremely excited about the opportunity to transform our iconic New York flagship store and create a dramatic new experience for customers”, said Alessandro Bogliolo, Tiffany & Co’s Chief Executive Officer, in a statement.

Tiffany & Co is one of the most famous jewelry brands in the world. Founded in 1837, the company currently operates over 300 stores worldwide and employs approximately 13,000 people.
